Aqua Blue Wellness Center, located in Smoketown, is now offering reflexology sessions with a nationally certified reflexologist. Reflexology is a holistic therapy based on the discovery that there are nerve ending points on the feet and hands which correspond to organs, muscles, glands, systems and structures within the body. Applying specific pressure techniques to the corresponding points on the feet and hands may help facilitate the body’s return to a state of homeostasis.

 

During a typical 60-minute session, the client remains fully clothed with the exception of shoes and socks. Following a foot soak, each session is tailored to the individual needs of the client using only the techniques of human therapeutic touch, applied with varying degrees of pressure to bring about results.

 

Reflexology may increase relaxation; reduce or eliminate pain; alleviate the effects of stress; revitalize the body’s energy; boost the immune system; improve bodily functions; and help lymphatic flow.
