 Natural Awakenings Lancaster-Berks

Letter From the Publishers, May 2014

Head, heart and hands, women from all over the planet, have woven their special touch into homes and relationships for centuries. A spicy  yet gentle recipe of compassion, convictions and innate knowing, the feminine archetype has evolved into a current model of wisdom for discernment and following the flow  . Our Women’s Wellness and Bodywork issue was created specifically to inspire a connection with this comforting, inner compass.

Attunement to subtle energies has come with the shift of this time, reconnecting many to a profound navigation system deep within our collective psyche. The significance of this guidance was highlighted by the Dalai Lama at the Vancouver Peace Summit in 2009, when he pointed out women’s role in the healing of our world. And only five years later, it seems gender differentiation has lessened in that the key qualities of receptivity, peace and deep listening are now accepted as fundamental, soothing and vital energies needed to access the whisper of the soul.

Outdated patriarchal mindsets and duality-laden perspectives are falling away, creating space for respect and common ground that affirms every woman’s core power. A bright new month of emergence, May is an optimal time to shed light on this realignment that will guide our way.

The brilliant intuition we hold within our very own cells also radiates between us, illuminating an empowered faith in which grace and dignity go hand in hand. My own mother, persisting in her enthusiasm, empathy and fierce generosity, is a shining example of embracing life from the inside out. In a different life phase but equally inspired by the miracle of being is a dear friend who has just delivered a beautiful baby boy, glowing in the aura and awe of new life. Synching with the natural rhythms and compassionate directive from within, we are carried forward, an ongoing tribute to the tenderness and strength of motherhood and the love that circles the world.

Join us in celebrating the gift of an inner voice, the many ways to honor it and the chorus of those surrounding us as we travel together on our way.
