Take Heart Counseling & Equine Assisted Therapy, in Wernersville, is now enrolling participants for its summer equine therapy groups, offering a unique, experiential approach to emotional wellness. Led by founder and counselor Meagan Good, LPC, these four- and six-week programs run from June 22 through August 7, 2026, with sessions available weekdays for children, teens and adults.
Equine therapy provides an alternative or complement to traditional talk therapy, helping participants build trust, process emotions and develop confidence through guided interaction with horses. In a recent teen group, one participant that initially struggled to express emotions was supporting peers by the final week—highlighting the powerful growth that can occur in a group setting. Adult participants have also reported strong connections, with some groups choosing to continue together beyond the initial session.
“Horses have a way of helping people access emotions and build trust in ways that feel natural and safe,” says Good.
Cost: $350-$675. Location: 699 Wooltown Rd., Wernersville. For more information and to register, call 717-917-7137, email [email protected] or visit TakeHeartCounseling.com.
