Lancaster Workshop & Tool Library has opened in Lancaster at 433 Ice Avenue, offering a community-based space where members can borrow tools for home, business and garden projects while participating in hands-on skill-building classes. The organization provides 365-day tool-lending access, reducing the need to purchase and store equipment used only occasionally.

“Our space is built on the pillars of safety, welcome and uplifting the diversity that makes Lancaster such a special place to live and work,” says co-founder Emily Fritz. “We exist to support mutual aid, skill-sharing and intergenerational learning while building community responsibility for one another and our shared environment.”

Educational offerings include workshops on power tool safety, woodworking, stained glass, historic plaster and masonry, window restoration and electrical skills. Future plans include community workshop hours during which members can access shared tools and workspace for larger personal or community projects. Memberships are available on a sliding scale to support accessibility and community participation.
