Experience Indigenous Health, Community & Connection on the River
Set along the scenic banks of the Schuylkill River, the Good Medicine Indigenous Wellness Celebration returns for its third year from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 13, 2026, at Riverfront Park, in Reading. Hosted by the Widoktadwen Center for Native Knowledge, this free, family-friendly event invites the community to explore Native American approaches to health, healing and environmental stewardship.
The day begins with a riverfront cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m., offering a meaningful way to care for the land before the festivities begin. Throughout the celebration, speakers will share perspectives on community well-being, safety and the vital connection between human health and the health of the Schuylkill River.
Attendees can enjoy Indigenous storytelling for children, traditional food tastings and cooking demonstrations, as well as Native American dance and cultural presentations. Interactive experiences include art-making activities, free health screenings and kayaking demonstrations on the river.
Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs and spend the day immersed in culture, connection and the restorative power of nature.
Location: 255 Riverfront Dr., Reading. For more information, contact Executive Director Amanda Funk at 484-258-2817 or [email protected] or visit Widoktadwen.org.
