Soothe Wellness is redefining how mental and physical health are understood and treated through a nervous system-focused model of care. Founded by Jen Donovan, LPC, NTP, CGP, and Mike Welch, AAS, NMI-3, the practice blends clinical expertise, personal healing journeys and emerging neuroscience to support lasting change. They offer trauma-focused one-on-one sessions and NeuroMeditation sessions by appointment in a private Lancaster studio.
Guided by the tagline “science-based nervous system healing,” Soothe Wellness operates on the belief that symptoms are not failures of the body, but intelligent survival responses. “Mental health is both psychological and physiological,” Donovan and Welch explain. “The brain, body and nervous system must be addressed together for true healing to occur.”
The practice bridges a gap between traditional talk therapy, functional nutrition and brain-based interventions. Donovan’s background as a licensed counselor, combined with her recovery from chronic illness, led her to incorporate somatic trauma therapies such as Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) and fascia-focused Block Therapy. Welch’s experience in exercise science and mental health recovery led him to NeuroMeditation, a modality that uses brainwave data to guide personalized meditation practices.
“Many clients come to us feeling stuck after trying conventional approaches, often due to underlying nervous system dysregulation,” they note. “We’re able to look at the bigger picture and address root causes.”

Soothe Wellness offers a range of services that support whole-person healing. Somatic trauma therapy uses body-based techniques—including fascia release—to help clients let go of stored stress and survival patterns. Metabolic mental health coaching focuses on optimizing brain function through nutrition, gut-brain repair, targeted supplementation and functional lab testing. NeuroMeditation and brain training help clients identify and shift stress-based brainwave patterns using real-time feedback tools.
This integrated model addresses multiple layers of health, including trauma patterns, fascia restrictions, neuroplasticity and metabolic function. The result is a personalized care plan tailored to each client’s history, physiology and goals.
Clients often seek support for anxiety, burnout, trauma, chronic pain and other persistent conditions. The intake process emphasizes a deep exploration of symptoms and root causes, creating a space where individuals feel heard and understood.
“Clients are met with curiosity instead of judgment and validation instead of dismissal,” Donovan and Welch say. “That sense of safety is where healing begins.”
As clients progress, many report reduced anxiety, improved digestion and energy, better sleep and greater emotional stability. Just as important, they gain a new understanding of their bodies. “The goal is to help people work with their system, not against it,” they explain.
Education is central to the Soothe Wellness model. Clients learn how their nervous system functions, why symptoms develop and how to actively participate in their own healing, transforming care into a collaborative and empowering process.
In addition to one-on-one sessions, Soothe Wellness offers a weekly nervous system-based class and a monthly TRE class at West End Yoga Studio, in Lancaster, along with guest lectures.
Looking ahead, the founders aim to expand Soothe Wellness into a leading center for somatic and fascia-focused therapy, metabolic mental health and brainwave regulation, with a mission to shift the conversation from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What is your nervous system responding to?”
