Homefields, in Millersville, will host its annual Open Farm event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 19, 2026. This free, family-friendly gathering invites visitors to learn about organic farming, meet farmers, make a take-home DIY project, stop by Homefield’s Nature Mystery Box station, and discover ways to get involved through volunteer opportunities and community partnerships.

Guests can take guided farm tours throughout the day, meet local partner farms and small businesses and learn more about Homefields’ community supported agriculture program (CSA). Visitors can also enjoy hands-on activities, connect with local nonprofit organizations and receive a special discount code for the CSA program. Guests are invited to bring a picnic lunch; blankets will be provided.

The event will include live music from the local band 2020 (starting at 12:30 p.m.), a DIY project station and food available for purchase from Koshary Station. Community partners such as Mirror Image Farm, Abendessen Bread and the Lancaster Science Factory will also be present, offering opportunities to learn more about local agriculture and environmental education.

Homefields operates as a care farm that combines organic agriculture with meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and partners with Community Action Partnership to bring a mobile food market, Rolling Roots, to downtown Lancaster.
