Soundwise Health Associates will host internationally respected sound researcher Mitch Nur, Ph.D., for a rare, in-depth master class from noon to 6 p.m. on January 31, 2026, at Soundwise School, in Lancaster. Nur, a pioneering figure in ethnomusicology and sound healing, will present The Ethos of Anthropophony, an exploration of human-generated sound and its role within the broader soundscape.

Considered a legend in the field, Nur is offering this special session as he continues to scale back his teaching schedule, making the event a meaningful opportunity for both seasoned practitioners and those newly interested in sound therapy. “In a generous gesture, he is also donating his lecture fee to the Soundwise School scholarship fund,” shares Lana Ryder, founding director and senior instructor.

Additional January offerings include a Fundamentals of Sound Healing class at 9:30 a.m. on January 7 and Three Gongs Talking at Zoetropolis at 1:30 p.m. on January 9. An Etheric Violin Meditation will take place at 6 p.m. on January 11, followed by the start of the Soundwise School session on January 21.

Cost: $250. Location: 313 W. Liberty St., Ste. 263, Lancaster. For more information or to register, call 610-301-4356 or visit SoundwiseHealth.com.
