Overworked
muscles are a source of pain anywhere in the body. In the head and neck, they
can be the source of headaches, migraines, facial and neck pain. Many times the
reason they are overworked is a bad bite caused by worn, broken and/or chipped
teeth. Physiologic Based Dentistry (PBD) is a holistic approach in which the
head and neck area is restored to the way it was designed to function.
PBD measures muscle activity to see if a person has a
bad bite and finds an improved bite position where the muscles are no longer
overworked. An orthotic can then be made to allow the jaw to function at the
position where the muscles are the healthiest. For most people, headaches,
migraines and other pains go away.
The BioRESEARCH BioPak often used by phsyiologic
dentists is an advanced electro diagnostic system that measures muscle activity
at rest and during a variety of functions to reveal what is occurring.
Physiologic dentistry measures everything to clarify where the end point is to
achieve a balanced bite.
