 Natural Awakenings Lancaster-Berks

Kudos to Grey Muzzle Manor

Grey Muzzle Manor received a $6,000 grant to sponsor female participants in Berks County for their Stable Moments equine-assisted, community mentorship program. Stable Moments utilizes structured activities to achieve life skills for children impacted by foster care and children adopted from foster care programs. Grey Muzzle Manor, a nonprofit sanctuary for senior animals and animals with special needs, became a certified site and launched their first Stable Moments sessions this past fall.

Executive Director Marcy Tocker, MA, NCC, is not only a client-centered, mental health professional who utilizes various evidence-based, animal-assisted and equine-assisted psychotherapy techniques, she is also a foster parent. “I am honored, excited and rejuvenated to be one of the grant recipients because I am passionate about Stable Moments and cannot wait to continue to show the program’s empowering potential,” enthuses Tocker. “I would like to thank The Power of the Purse in Berks County for awarding us the grant through the Berks County Community Foundation, and for helping us to continue to support kids in foster care and kids adopted from foster care through mentorship and equine-assisted learning.”
