Lemon Street Market will have local, pasture-raised turkeys available for pre-order in late October, including certified organic, transitional (using organic methods but not certified organic) and GMO-free (no chemical sprays on the fields the turkeys grazed on). As preparation for serving guests who will be in attendance at the meal, store owner Patricia Haverstick recommends ordering a size that will feed a pound to a pound-and-a-half per-person.

“As you plan your Thanksgiving holiday meal, why not consider purchasing a local, pasture- raised turkey? When you buy locally, more of your money stays in the community to support family-run farms,” notes Haverstick. “You also get a turkey that is fresher, tastier and ethically raised.”
