The Guts & Glory Digestive and Wellness Expo, to be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., October 27, at FirstEnergy Stadium, in Reading, is an interactive, annual event for all ages designed to educate the health-curious; elevate the understanding of the health-conscious; and raise community awareness of the importance of digestive health and overall wellness through the free exchange of information and resources.  

 

Created and hosted by the nonprofit organization My Gut Instinct, and sponsored by Penn State Health St. Joseph, the educational expo features live yoga, free health screenings, nutrition and wellness expertise, massage, group fitness presentations and kid zones encouraging healthy eating and exercise.  

 

“We intend to empower people to live healthier lives and show the community that eating and living healthy is not only easy to do, but it can also be fun and delicious,” says Dr. Aparna Mele, founder and president. “This year marks our fifth-year anniversary, and the event will be held over Halloween weekend with special festivities to enjoy the season and celebrate five amazing, strong years in Berks county. 

 

“Attendees can shop in the farmers’ market after watching a live cooking demo, try out a free yoga or spin class and then grab a bite to eat from one of the many vendors serving locally- sourced, delicious, healthy food,” she enthuses.
