ASSETS presents The Great Social Enterprise Pitch, a friendly, business plan competition that helps take innovative, socially conscious business ideas to the next level. Beginning in May, 10 participants attended Idea Incubator classes in order to develop and refine their business ideas, establish a business model, define their social and/or environmental impact(s), set the financial framework and create their brand. Following the Idea Incubator, participants prepare their Crowdfunding campaigns. Only five participants will move on to the Live Pitch. 

The crowdfunding launch event will be held on August 22. The Live Pitch finale event is an introduction to the businesses and will take place on September 29. 

  The team at ASSETS believes that business can transform a community. They train businesses to look at the triple bottom line–people, planet and profit–and want to encourage consumers to support local businesses who are starting to look at environmental and social performance in the same way that they look at financial performance.
