What’s With Wheat? Showing at Rodale Institute

A community screening of the documentary film What’s With Wheat? will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., August 11, in Rodale Institute’s theater, located next to the Garden Store. Released in 2016, What’s With Wheat? takes a provocative look at the way grains are produced in today’s industrial land. Interviewing nutrition experts, organic farmers like Joel Salatin and scientific advisor Vandana Shiva, it shines a light on the ubiquitous nature of wheat—it’s in nearly all processed foods—and makes a case for a diet focused more on fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, seafood, and healthy fats and less on grains. The film also draws parallels between increased grain consumption and the emergence of certain disease states.

In addition to viewing the film, visitors will have the opportunity to take a self-guided walking tour of the farm, enjoy food samples throughout the screening and shop in the Garden Store.
