 Natural Awakenings Lancaster-Berks

Nutrition Education with Stephanie Jack

Stephanie Jack, Ph.D., offers nutrition classes to residents in retirement communities about foods and supplements that help with issues related to retirees, such as insomnia, Seasonal Affective Disorder, dry skin, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and weight issues. In addition, she presents nutrition classes on Foods from Around the World, a new series that features ethnic indigenous foods, and why they promote health. Another topic is comfort foods—what they are and how they affect well-being.

“Teaching is my passion, and since January is a time of new beginnings, I offer hope,” explains Jack. “It’s not hard to accomplish your goals once you understand what your nutritional requirements are; I can teach you how to determine the amount of protein and carbohydrates you need to eat at each meal to feel energized and satisfied without feeling deprived. There are foods that can be eaten in unlimited quantities that fill you up, such as arugula, broccoli, lettuces, radishes and other vegetables. I look forward to helping you accomplish one of your goals for a healthier you in the New Year!”
