YWCA Lancaster Hosts Women of Achievement Luncheon

YWCA Lancaster will host its inaugural Women of Achievement Luncheon, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., November 3, at The Inn at Leola Village, in Leola. The goal of the event is to recognize and honor six women of Lancaster County who make local communities a better place through their leadership and excellence in both personal and professional endeavors. This includes women who may not have a high professional profile, but who humbly give of their time and energy in supporting YWCA Lancaster’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Bertice Berry, who grew up disadvantaged but became a professor at Kent State University and, later, an award-winning entertainer, lecturer and comedienne as well as a best-selling author. Her vision is to enable, empower and uplift others to live an intentional life of purpose and joy.

The generous support of local community members and businesses will not only help to recognize deserving women but will also strengthen YWCA’s mission and programming. This includes advancing justice through race and gender equality programs, helping keep kids in school, providing childcare, closing the gender leadership gap, helping people find and maintain employment and working to end homelessness by providing housing and shelter, thereby ensuring that families have a safe space in which to live and grow.

Location: 38 Deborah Dr., Leola. For more information, and to become a sponsor, partner or in-kind partner, call Susan Eberly at 717-725-5783, email [email protected] or visit YWCALancaster.org/WomenOfAchievement. To purchase tickets, visit YWCAWomenOfAchievement.eventbrite.com.
