Elloday : Delivering Fresh Bread and Juice to Doorsteps in Lancaster County

Jun 29, 2017 12:25AM ● By Carolyn Coogan

Elloday is a small, local business creating a ripple effect of healthy goodness throughout Lancaster County by delivering fresh-baked organic bread and fresh-squeezed organic juice directly to customers—the same morning the bread is baked and the juice is squeezed. After celebrating its first anniversary in May, Elloday is looking forward to continuing to serve the community by fulfilling the goal of directly delivering fresh food as if their customers had picked the ingredients and baked them, or squeezed them, at home.

The staff at Elloday believes that it all starts with caring for oneself by treating the body right, and everything else will follow. They do all the baking and the juicing, so that their customers just get to open their doors and start an amazing day with freshly-made products.

Every ingredient Elloday uses is non-GMO. The recipes use as many organic ingredients as possible and make it a point to stick to what nature intended. Fresh-baked organic bread choices include gluten-free, vegan and soy-free recipes, and there’s no need to add preservatives because the bread is delivered shortly after it comes out of the oven.

The raw, cold-pressed juices are made with 100 percent organic, GMO-free ingredients; everything in the bottle is from a fruit or vegetable. By using a very powerful hydraulic press, every last drop of juice is squeezed out without introducing heat, which destroys enzymes and oxidizes nutrients. The juice is not pasteurized, nor treated in any way, to ensure all of the nutrients and enzymes remain, and the flavor is the freshest. The juice menu includes James Franco, Melonade, Kolada, Kool Kale, Grapefruit, Orange and the two newest flavors, Heartbeet and Galifianakis.

Curated collections of fresh-baked, made-from-scratch bread and fresh, cold-pressed juice can be ordered in bundles, fitting healthy lifestyles and contributing to wellness goals with an added discount. The Breakfast4U Bundle includes warm, delicious bread, and fresh-pressed, hearty juice with 33 grams of protein. The Body Bundle includes three items of fresh juice, jam-packed with 66 grams of protein to fuel a daily workout and the rest of the day. Cleanses and smoothies are being introduced to the menu this month.

Customers can either place single orders or subscribe to scheduled delivery to receive discounts. Keeping costs affordable is important to the staff because they want to reach all people. Customers can have fresh bread and organic juice delivered to their doors for less and fresher than they would find at the store, and without any of the time or cleanup from baking and pressing. The small Elloday team works together to make this happen. Technology handles the ordering. When the staff arrives at the facility in the morning, the technology provides the essential information, such as how many oranges to squeeze, how much kale to add, and when and where to deliver, and the staff makes it happen.

Elloday’s sustainable efforts include not only the choice of non-GMO ingredients and the use of technology to streamline services, but also recyclable packaging and biodegradable bags that are used when deliveries need to stay dry due to weather.

Healthy living and a healthy planet rest upon the same foundation that Elloday is built upon. Support a small, local business and wake up to fresh-baked bread and fresh-squeezed juice, a delightful way to feel good, live simply and laugh more.
