The second annual Aware Lancaster Yoga & Wellness Day, a day of renewal, reflection and focus through yoga, will take place from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., January 22nd, at the Ware Center, Millersville University, in Lancaster.

This year’s event, presented by Millersville University, Create Karma Leadership Training and Natural Awakenings, features master classes and workshops with regional yoga and wellness experts, as well as a lively marketplace featuring vendors of goods and services, a café with fresh and packaged healthy foods, music and more.

Learning breath work practices and how being present in the now inspires health and well-being, participants will be taken on a journey toward balance, harmony and restful appreciation. There will be five, hour-long asana practices led by local yoga leaders, as well as five, hour-long lectures on different aspects of wellness. Classes are geared not only toward practitioners, but also yoga teachers and entrepreneurs.

“There are layers of content from our incredible and diverse faculty of teachers woven throughout the day, with lectures, amazing workshops and master classes,” shares Sarah Yukie Gingrich, founder of Create Karma, and a member of the Aware team of organizers. “Yoga has evolved in Lancaster, but we’d like it to evolve even further. Aware Day helps us to get the yoga message out to different people, of all shapes, sizes and body types, that there is a form of yoga for everyone.”

Create Karma is a wellness-inspired non-profit organization committed to creating healthy communities through wellness classes, events and leadership trainings. Inaugural program graduates will lead wellness workshops. Their class offerings strive to empower individuals to become embodied leaders who effect positive change through their lives and actions.

Master teachers from around the country will teach two-hour master classes. Local teachers will teach 45-minute classes to be offered every half hour or hour. Combo classes featuring meditation, mindfulness and yoga are also scheduled throughout the day. A full spectrum of yoga practices, including breath work and chair yoga, have been designed to be accessible to everyone.

Aware Lancaster Yoga & Wellness Day will conclude with a finale of playful asana practice that turns into dance and free expression inspired by music.

There are three admission levels: Basic, Basic+ and Premium. Basic includes admission to the marketplace with classes, wellness and yoga demos; Basic+ includes marketplace admission plus one master class; and Premium includes marketplace admission plus three master classes. All tickets include access to the second level lounge and café.

The following vendor categories will be among those represented in the marketplace: a functional nutrition, integrative health, wellness, massage therapy, chiropractic, reiki, acupuncture, aromatherapy, essential oils/products, reflexology, hypnosis, yoga clothing and accessories, meditation cushions, gifts, and more.

Participants are encouraged to join in Aware Lancaster Yoga & Wellness Day in order to slowly take in an in-breath, slowly release the out-breath and create their own movement and wellness story.
