Berks County Celebrates Earth Day

The annual Berks County Earth Day celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 23, at Riverfront Park. The all-ages, family-friendly event helps to educate the community about environmental awareness and living green with sustainable life practices.

The event will include ecology workshops, keynote speakers, artisan vendors, Penn Street Farmers Market, wellness sessions and more. Engaging childrens activities feature a live demonstration by Pocono Snake and Animal Farm, ladybug release and creation of fun recycled crafts.

Attendees are invited to bring recyclables to the event for collection: gently used clothing, housewares, batteries, electronic equipment, light bulbs, paper, cardboard and plastic grocery bags. All items for recycling will be properly disposed of or consigned the day of the event, and donation items remaining will be donated locally.

Cost: Free. Location: Riverfront ParkRiverfront Dr., Reading. For more information, email [email protected] or visit EarthDayBerks.org.
