Spring Yoga Teacher Training to Begin at Yoga on Orange

Maria van der Meij, owner of YOGA on Orange, is holding a 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT) eight-month program from April 16 through November 6. Classes will occur one weekend a month; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Participants will experience a deeper understanding of the system of yoga. 

 

Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT500) van der Meij, with over 40 years of yoga practice and 25 years of teaching experience, will guide the training. The comprehensive program includes the physicalpractice of yoga postures and breathing techniques and learning the skills needed to teach others. A good portion of the training isconcentrated on anatomy and physiology of the body in relationship to yoga postures. The anatomy of the nose is studied, along with the nervous system in relationship to yoga breathing and overall health. Additionally, attendees will learn how Ayurveda and nutrition help facilitate a healthy yoga practice. 

 

The Yoga on Orange Companion Guide for Teachersis included in the training cost. Required classes from the regular schedule are free. Upon completion, participants will receive a Yoga Alliance certification.
