Jeannie Peck, traditional naturopath, functional nutrition clinician and owner of Health by Design (HBD) Natural Clinic, has announced its new location at 344 East Main Street, in Leola, and the addition of Melissa Byers, licensed massage therapist, to the HBD team. A health screening day, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 23, will include electro-dermal screenings to measure inflammatory and degenerative indicators for body systems and organs, as well as blood pressure, BMI, body fat and cellular hydration screenings and chair massages. Appointment scheduling is suggested. 

A strong interest in educating the community about Lyme disease treatment choices has led Peck to collaborate with world-renowned medical doctor, Armin Schwarzbach, from Germany, who has worked in the field of Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme disease) and co-infections for over 20 years, and specializes in laboratory medicine and infectious diseases. During a detailed intake consultation, Peck utilizes Schwarzbach’s customized questionnaire to help determine a client’s risk factor for developing Lyme disease and/or co-infections. She also hosts Lyme disease treatment seminars. 

Lab tests are available for gastrointestinal pathogens, micronutrients, thyroid, adrenal, cardio-metabolic and food sensitivities. Peck provides hormonal, nutritional and lab test result consultations. 

Byers, a graduate of Lancaster School of Massage, will offer a variety of therapeutic massage modalities and energy work.
