Connected Warriors Yoga For Veterans

Complimentary Connected Warriors Yoga classes are held at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, at the East Petersburg Area Civic Center (EPACC), in East Petersburg, with instructor Michaela Sharp. Veterans respond well to this trauma-conscious yoga therapy class, designed specifically for service members, veterans and their families.

Sharps training includes a 150-hour-plus yoga teacher apprenticeship from Felicia Mason, in Clarksville, Tennessee; yoga instructor certification from the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association; as well as a 200-RYT Power Yoga Teacher training from Hot Yoga Plus, in Nashville. Throughout 2014 and 2015, Sharp completed the Connected Warriors training, both on site in Tennessee, and live via FaceTime. Supporting Veterans is close to my heart because my husbandwho just retired last yearserved 25 years in the Army, shares Sharp.

Morning Flow Yoga takes place at 9:15 a.m., on Mondays, with Gentle Yoga scheduled for 6:30 p.m., on Wednesdays. EPACC is supported by East Petersburg Faith Outreach, a nonprofit organization serving the community with programs such as Homework Help, Power Packs, nutrition, fitness classes and more.
