Aware Lancaster Yoga & Wellness Day

The Aware Lancaster Yoga & Wellness Day, a day of renewal, reflection and focus through yoga, will take place from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., January 16, at the Ware Center, Millersville University, in Lancaster. The event features 13 master classes from regional yoga and wellness experts, presented on four different stages over five time slots throughout the day. There will also be a lively marketplace featuring vendors, live music and an hourly asana practices, each presented by a different studio.

Multiple yoga traditions will be represented, including specialized classes for beginners, prenatal, guided meditations and more. The day will include classes for yogis at every level, as well as people new to yoga who are interested in exploring different styles in a gentle and welcoming environment committed to inclusiveness, sharing yoga and community.

There are three admission levels: Basic, Basic+ and Premium. Basic includes admission to the marketplace with classes, wellness and yoga demos; Basic+ includes marketplace admission plus one master class; and Premium includes marketplace admission plus five master classes. The first 50 Premium tickets sold will receive VIP status, which includes a t-shirt and premium mat placement. All tickets include access to the second level lounge and café.

Master class highlights include: New Beginnings, The Energy of Ganesha, with Briala Da Silva of Briala Bodyworks; Toolkit for Inversions, with Lisa Taylor of Evolution Power Yoga; Chakra Flow, with Sheri Celetano of Laughing Lotus NYC; The Ways of a Nahi “Warrior”, with Sid McNairy of SidYoga, Baltimore.

Additional master class presenters include: Cynthia Kilbourn and Mary Ellen Francescani of Middle Way Wellness, Lancaster; Sudha and Ed Allitt of Kula Kamala, Reading; Sara Rose Bryant and Misha Kaschock of Yoga Nature, Harrisburg; Michelle Spitko of Sunshine Healing Arts, Millersville; Julie Mathers of Evolution Power Yoga, Lancaster; and Maria van der Meij of Yoga On Orange, Lancaster.

The “Blues & Yoga” finale will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with Sheri Celetano of Laughing Lotus, in NYC. Celetano and her three-piece band present a dynamic, spiritual experience of yoga and music. The class allows attendees to feel, breathe and get their groove on in a 90-minute, spirited flow including forward bends, hip openers, meditation and rest.

The Marketplace will feature health and wellness practitioners and specialty retail yoga and accessories, essential oils, jewelry and more. Studios offering classes on the stage include: Ethos Fitness, Carlisle; Imagine Your Yoga, York; Bridge Yoga Studio, Lancaster; Zoetropolis Art House Yoga, Lancaster; and Bikram Yoga, Lancaster.
