American Holistic Nurses Association Regional Conference

American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) will host a regional conference, Holistic Self-Care: Your Secret Power for Enhancing Patient Care, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., November 14, at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center, in Washington, D.C. Participants will learn about self-care and why it is essential to both personal thriving and quality patient care.

The keynote speaker will be Peggy Burkhardt, AHNA past president, family nurse practitioner and holistic nurse for over 25 years. She is a current Associate Professor Emerita at the West Virginia University School of Nursing, Charleston Division and has published numerous articles, chapters and books related to holistic nursing ethics and spirituality. Workshop sessions will discuss holistic self-care and how nurses can develop, and regularly incorporate, self-care into their lives and nursing practice. 

Founded in 1981, AHNA delivers valuable resources and offers superior networking opportunities to the healthcare universe, by increasing awareness and promoting education, as well as personal community-building among nurses, other healthcare professionals and the public. AHNA currently services almost 4,500 members through 143 local chapters/networks in the U.S. and abroad.
