Berks Sustainability Fest Celebrates Healthy People and Planet

The Berks Sustainability Fest, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., July 19, in the Vanity Fair parking lot on Penn Avenue, in Wyomissing, offers a day of fun, education and entertainment. The goal of the festival is to promote the many ways Berks County is working towards sustainability. The event features locally grown food prepared by local restaurants; a green marketplace with local and organic produce and eco-inspired art; a green drinks tent that will serve locally made beer, wines, and vodka; eco-friendly vehicles for test driving; a cycling culture marketplace for bike repairs, swapping and more; water refill stations; a sustainable fashion show; and an area for hands-on fun and games for children of all ages.

Festival-goers will be able to visit exhibits and watch demonstrations by universities, businesses and nonprofits about how to apply simple, practical tips for living sustainably at home and work and on the road. The gathering will provide a forum for Berks residents to celebrate community and learn how to improve their health and wellness while helping the planet
