Mindfulness Training with Craig Schollenberger

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Craig Schollenberger will lead an eight-week training in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesdays, beginning April 9, at his Wyomissing office. The training also includes one, six-hour Saturday session, as well as printed materials and CDs of guided meditations specific to the training. Sessions begin with a brief silent meditation and include discussions about new material as well as individual mindfulness practices. Participants cultivate mindfulness by practicing guided meditations, reading and journaling.

Mindfulness is part of a beneficial and effective program of treatment for trauma, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and addictive behavior.

Schollenberger received training in mindfulness and completed his teaching practicum at the University of Pennsylvania’s Program for Mindfulness, with Program Director Michael Baime, M.D. He has also trained with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., and Zindel Segal, Ph.D. Schollenberger’s private practice offers treatment for individuals, couples, families and groups. He is certified by the American Board of Examiners as a diplomate in clinical social work.
