Annual Lititz Kid-Lit Festival

Aaron’s Books of Lititz, a family-owned, independent bookstore, will host the fifth annual Lititz Kid-Lit Festival weekend. Festival hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., November 8, at Aaron’s Books, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., November 9, at Linden Hall School for Girls. A children’s genealogy workshop will be held at 1 p.m., November 10, at Aaron’s Books. The event gathers authors and illustrators to celebrate the best in children’s and young adult literature and enables children to meet their favorite authors, interact with storybook characters and learn about using pictures and words to tell a story.

On November 8, young fans can meet authors that include bestselling teen author Maria V. Snyder. Saturday’s authors include three-time Caldecott Award winner David Wiesner, as well as Debbie Dadey, Chris Grabenstein and Amy Ignatow. At Sunday’s session, Anne Schmidt Koenig will present her book, Earl Charles Squirrel, to introduce children to exploring their family roots. Special workshops and discounted admission prices honor teachers and librarians.

Cost: Friday, free; Saturday, various prices including family, teacher and student discounts. Locations: Aaron’s Books, 35 E. Main St.; Linden Hall School for Girls, 212 E. Main St. For tickets and more information, call 717-627-1990, email [email protected] or visit LititzKidLitFest.com.
