Interval Training Comes to Health By Design

Interval training expert Jackie Florio has joined the fitness team at Health by Design Natural Clinic, in Leola. Interval training is the practice of alternating bursts of intense activity either with rest or with intervals of lighter activity, and can be a valuable addition to any fitness program. Runners, for example, might do a track workout that involves sprinting through the straightaways and jogging through the turns.

Interval training brings many benefits, including enhanced calorie burning, improved aerobic capacity and preventing workout boredom. Florio has more than 15 years of fitness experience, with certifications in aerobics, cycling and as a group exercise instructor. She teaches interval training classes from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturdays, and is available for one-on-one personal training.
