Feldenkrais Practitioner Leads Classes for Children with Special Needs

Child’Space and Feldenkrais practitioner Donna Bervinchak is teaching four-week classes to parents and caregivers of special needs children on Wednesdays, at Improving Through Movement, in Lancaster. Fun for children and informative for parents and caregivers, the Pre-Crawlers class will meet at 10 a.m. and Crawlers on the Move will meet at 11:15 a.m., beginning October 9.

Classes enhance the child’s body awareness, curiosity and exploration of the world around them. A Child’Space teacher will interactively show the caregiver how to gently touch and guide the child’s movement. Through experimentation and by listening, parents learn ways to bond and better sense their child’s needs, growing to trust their intuition, while caring for their youngster and discovering opportunities for their child to practice at home. Classes incorporate methods based on the theories of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and use touch, movement and interactive games to support a child’s motor, social and emotional development.

Cost for four classes: $60 by Oct. 2 and $80 after. Location: 3543 Marietta Ave., Ste. H1, Lancaster. For preregistration (required) and more information, call 717-285-0399, email [email protected] or visit FeldenkraisBlog.com
