Independent Film Returns to Lancaster

 

The independent film cinema Zoetropolis Theatre recently reopened at 315 West James Street, Suite 204, in Lancaster. The theater and community gathering space is co-owned by local obstetrician Karen Robinson and the owner of Fin hair salon, Leigh Lindsay, who operated its previous incarnation from 2000 to 2004.

The theater, which screens art, foreign and independent films, seats 65 people with space for more than 100. The facility also provides an open lobby with sofas and chairs where patrons can enjoy coffee, Wi-Fi and local art. The handicapped-accessible space is available for conferences and private parties. Plans are underway to add a smoothie bar to the venue and to host open mic nights, yoga classes and other events.
