Spooky Nook Sports, located at 2913 Spooky Nook Road, adjacent to Route 283, in East Hempfield Township, has claimed the distinction of being the largest indoor fitness and fun facility in the United States. The former Armstrong warehouse now houses about seven acres of indoor facilities, and work is beginning on the outdoor portion of the complex.

Spooky Nook Sports contains space for team sports, personal training, banquets, corporate events and more. It includes a fitness area for adults with a dedicated area for onsite childcare. Facilities include 10 full-sized basketball courts, each with a scoreboard and a shot clock, indoor fields for soccer and baseball, volleyball and tennis courts, climbing walls, an arcade, a pro shop, a full-service food court and a smoothie bar. By the end of the summer, nine outdoor turf fields will be ready for field hockey, soccer and lacrosse, and one of them will be housed in a dome, making it usable all year.

In addition, USA Field Hockey will move its national headquarters to the complex as soon as that organization’s playing fields, conditioning areas, locker rooms and office space are ready.

Cost varies; $55 initiation fee and $39/month for fitness membership; other membership types also available. For more information, call 717-945-7087, email [email protected] or visit SpookyNookSports.com.
