YogiDance Founder Offers Free Kids’ Yoga Classes in the Park

The Berks County Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor yoga for kids this summer at Gring’s Mill Recreation Area, in Wyomissing, at 4:30 p.m., June 30, July 28 and August 18. Led by Jessica Walsh, founder of YogiDance, the outdoor classes are most suitable for children between the ages of 3 and 10, though all are welcome.

Walsh studied with Marsha Wenig, the founder of YogaKids, to provide children with skills for overcoming challenges in life. With a background in dance and yoga from Penn State University, Walsh created programs and activities structured around physical exercise that supports creativity and inner focus to enhance the mind-body connection.

Studies have shown the many benefits of yoga, including relaxation and increased self-awareness and resilience to stress, so children are having fun while integrating with positive, affirming experiences. Open to the public, this program is an opportunity for families to spend time outdoors together learning valuable skills for healthy living.

Cost: Free. Location: 2083 Tulpehocken Rd. For more information call 484-985-9644, email [email protected] or visit YogiDance.com.
