Godfrey’s–Welcome to Dogdom, a four-acre canine lifestyle campus located in Mohnton, in southern Berks County, is expanding its canine health and wellness services while regularly scheduled canine massage and Reiki sessions continue. New programs include Puppy Pilates Social, Canine Strength Building, Senior FitPAWS class and private canine treadmill sessions. Doga, a yoga class for humans and their dogs, is under development. Pet parents are active participants in Godfrey’s classes, which take place in the 800-square-foot canine learning center.

According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, more than 50 percent of dogs in the U.S. are overweight or obese. Poor pet-feeding habits and inadequate exercise put dogs at increased risk of gaining excess weight and succumbing to weight-related disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, musculoskeletal conditions, joint problems, osteoarthritis and cancer. Godfrey’s wellness and conditioning programs and nutritional consulting and products enable pet parents to minimize these risks.
