Rodale Institute Hosts Spring Open House and Plant Sale

The Rodale Institute, in Kutztown, will hold its annual Spring Open House and Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 11 and 12. Organic gardeners will find everything they need for successful growing, including certified organic vegetable, herb and flower plants, as well as fruit trees, compost, seeds and tools. In addition, visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of the 333-acre farm to view the season’s first blossoms, plus a visit to the garden store, set in a historical red schoolhouse, for organic snacks and children’s games.

J.I. Rodale was an early leader in the organic farming movement, and for more than 60 years, the Rodale Institute has been a worldwide leader in researching, documenting and sharing the benefits of organic farming for human and environmental health. The Rodale Institute farm welcomes visitors year-round, and the Spring Open House is just one of many special events held during the growing season.

Location: 611 Siegfriedale Rd., Kutztown. For more information, call 610-683-6009, email [email protected] or visit RodaleInstitute.org.
