 Natural Awakenings Lancaster-Berks

Sponsor or Adopt from New Lancaster Animal Shelter

On February 4, the Lancaster County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LCSPCA) opened, offering humane care and shelter to unwanted and stray animals. Executive Director Susan Martin expects to find homes and provide resources for nearly 4,500 animals this year.

The shelter accepts stray, domestic and owner-surrendered animals and all cruelty investigation cases. Each adoption package includes one complimentary veterinarian exam at participating providers, a ten-day adoption health guarantee, spaying or neutering, vaccinations and deworming.

As a non-profit, the LCSPCA is supported primarily by public donations. The Sponsor-a-Kennel-Program allows community members to support the shelter with personalized plaques, and volunteer opportunities exist for anyone wishing to contribute to the lives of animals awaiting homes.

Location: 599 Chesapeake St., Lancaster. For more information, call 704-701-9732, or visit LancasterSPCA.org.
