 Natural Awakenings Lancaster-Berks

Herd of Turtles Sighting on Lemon Street

The Herd of Turtles Café recently opened inside the Lemon Street Market, in downtown Lancaster, to offer customers fresh, healthy meals and beverages to go.

Café owner Lolita Haverstick says, “Herd of Turtles offers the best organic and local ingredients, Equal Exchange fair trade coffee and fair trade organic tea, as well as smoothies and juices made with organic produce and a variety of milk choices, ranging from local, grass-fed cow’s milk to soy, rice, almond and coconut. For our sandwiches, we use local artisan breads and bagels from Mili’s Bakery.”

Since opening a year ago, Lemon Street Market has been managed by Kharran Cattell, Lolita Haverstick, Trish Haverstick and Laura Stauffer Sisay. The market sells organic and seasonal produce and natural foods, as well as personal care products. The conveniently located market promises friendly smiles and warm service.

“The importance of individuality in personal diet choices has not been missed in the creation of this unique café in the city,” adds Lolita, noting that Herd of Turtles also caters to special diets.
