Rain to Drain: Slow the Flow

A hands-on, online, environmental education event for youth, exploring how the built environment affects the quality of rainwater flowing into our streams.

On Saturday, March 27 from 10 am to 11:30 am, the Merrill Linn Conservancy, partnering with Penn State Extension educators, will host a free online educational event exploring how the built environment in our communities--buildings, roads, and other impermeable surfaces--affects the quality of rainwater runoff that enters our streams. This program is geared to intermediate and middle school students in Lewisburg and throughout Union County and surrounding areas. Participants will perform several experiments demonstrating what happens to rainwater runoff and how small changes in our communities can protect the quality of water entering our streams. Participants are required to pre-register by Saturday, March 20  at Eventbrite -- https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rain-to-drain-slow-the-flow-fun-family-environmental-education-program-tickets-140618588985 Registration deadline is Saturday, March 20. The Conservancy will provide registrants with materials for the hands-on experiments.
