Tomato Grafting Workshop
Rodale Institute offers both experienced and inexperienced growers a workshop on the ancient art of grafting!
Tomato Grafting Workshop
This workshop will show experienced and inexperienced growers and farmers the ancient art of grafting. Tomatoes are the crown jewel of the farming season but can be difficult to deal with year after year, especially if they are grown in the same location (such as a high tunnel or small garden). This workshop combines classroom presentation and hands-on grafting for a well-rounded educational experience. We will discuss the science behind the graft as well as how grafting can impact the yields and health of the plants. We will also discuss good practices for high tunnel production of grafted and non-grafted tomato plants. At the end of the workshop, everyone will leave with two grafted tomato plants, a copy of the in-class powerpoint presentation, and instructions on how to care for their grafted tomato plants.
Space is limited, pre-registration is required.
