The Mercy Seminar with Prof. Randall Zachman and Rev. David Peck
Mercy and peace from an interfaith global perspective
The Mercy Seminar at the Urban Well is for those of any faith background who are seeking to deepen their understanding of God‘s mercy and peace from an interfaith global perspective. A Notre Dame professor and Episcopal priest guide learners through three terms (six-sessions each), and participants also have the rare opportunity to participate in an optional learning project at the Tantur Ecumenical Institute in Jerusalem in November 2020. In Term 2, "The cost of anti-Judaism: what Christianity lost," we will seek to come to terms with the negative portrayal of the Jews created by Christian theologians after the death of Jesus and the destruction of the Second Temple by Rome, to see what Christians lost by defining themselves over and against their Jewish neighbors. You do not need to attend all six sessions or to have taken Term 1 to enroll. Visit the website for more information.
