A Weekend with Philip Gulley, Quaker Pastor and Author, Nov. 2-3, 2019 Philip Gulley, a Quaker pastor and renowned author from Indiana, will be coming to Otterbein United Methodist Church for a storytelling and Sunday worship session. The public is invited. Gulley wrote a fictional Harmony series chronicling life in an eccentric Quaker community. Gulley’s folk theology and special brand of humor has been described as “tender and humorous … filled with sudden, unexpected, lump-in-the-throat poignancy.” His theology books discuss his progressive world including The Evolution of Faith, which articulates a Christianity that can be faithful to the priorities of Jesus, while helping people live happily, peacefully, and productively. It was described by Desmond Tutu as “a much-needed, important book for any person of faith.” Gulley is the author of 22 books.
