Schaefferstown Couple Empowers People to Improve Their Health
Joel Wampler with a patient
Overcoming personal health obstacles inspired Joel and Wampler to help others. Through their respective businesses, Family Chiropractic & Massage Therapy and Amplify Your Health, the husband-and-wife team work together to empower people to regain their health and quality of life.
During her teens, became infected with Lyme disease, which caused her to lack the energy of her peers and be frequently ill. She further experienced symptoms such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, odd muscle twitching, heart palpitations and dizziness. But it wasn’t until was in her late 20s that she found out Lyme disease was the culprit.
“Lyme disease is often misdiagnosed,” affirms, because symptoms resemble other diseases or ailments. “I was told I’d have to take antibiotics for a minimum of 18 months, and doctors weren’t even sure how my body would respond. I decided to look for a different route. Thankfully, I found biofeedback; within a year, it started turning my life around. I did things that I hadn’t been able to do for a long time and included foods in my diet that I hadn’t been able to eat.”
Certified as a biofeedback specialist, Lynelle’s services include the , a non-invasive Pulse Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) sound therapy device; the biofeedback machine, which receives and sends signals back to the body to help rebalance and normalize cells and muscle memory; and foot detoxification, which uses an ionic foot spa with energized water to release toxins through the feet.
According to , her clients report that using , biofeedback and foot detox together helps regenerate blood cells, increase oxygen levels, rid impurities from vital organs, boost the immune system, decrease anxiety, promote more restful sleep and decrease pain levels. Each person might respond a little differently, she notes, but she has seen people suffering from Lyme disease go back to work after being nonfunctional for years. The device can also be rented for home use.
“I do help coach people, but they take the reins to control their health,” she says. Prior to forming Amplify Your Health, was a horse trainer; she also offers biofeedback for horses and domestic animals.
Joel was drawn to the chiropractic profession after chiropractic helped him become mobile again following a work-related injury. In 2006, he graduated from Sherman College of Chiropractic, in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, with his doctor of chiropractic degree. He formed Family Chiropractic & Massage Therapy in 2009.
Joel specializes in spinal realignments and extremity work to treat people ranging from infants through adults. His cutting-edge technology includes a digital X-ray machine that provides a detailed structural analysis of each patient, serving as a visual tool for patients to see imbalances. He uses the Method, a technique based on a biomechanical principle of physics; and the Koren Specific Technique (KST), which can locate and address areas that need attention—toxicity, structural imbalances, visceral stresses, disc problems and more. “The testing allows for very specific chiropractic adjustments,” he says.
Massage services include Therapy, Swedish and deep tissue. “Chiropractic and massage therapy go hand-in-hand,” says Joel. “I move the bones, and the massage therapist gets the muscles to cooperate. It’s a great blend of care; the Therapy also works with fascia to help the body hold adjustments better.”
The remain passionate about helping others regain wellness. “People with Lyme disease feel robbed of quality of life, and this is why I do what I do—give people their lives back to regain a sense of self and accomplishment,” says.
Joel also stays inspired by helping people, and the more he learns, the more he can help. “Being part of somebody’s life and their mission to get well never gets old,” he enthuses.
